Dad's new love
I never understood human's love (some more than others obsession) with animals. Living with a
roommate who is absolutely crazy over animals and can't stop talking about her dog, I just thought this breed of humans obsessed with animals are weird. Or rather, maybe I'm weird becuase my heart just can't comprehend love for a barking thing. My dad is one of those weird animal lovers.
Not until yesterday, I met dad's new
beagle. She is a doll! She's 7 weeks and she's short, dad speaks mandarin with her so she's gotta have a name in mandarin- Ai Lei (ai meaning love, lei meaning joy). Right now, she just loves to run and constantly seeks for dad's attention.

Have you heard Jim Cramer's radio? Would you agree with me that it's very boring. I'm trying to learn how to trade for obvious reasons but also mostly motivated by the challenge of learning something new this year. Somehow I can't seem to find the slightest bit of fun doing it. There is too much information and I have not found any good reads on telling me how to start. I've only started 1 hour and ohhh.... I'm already falling asleep.
Life stops when it rains in KL.
All social activities got cancelled becuase it rained. It rains lots in KL and hence lots of traffic jams. Highways were flooded, ppl were stuck in traffic jams for hours. I hate traffic jams, am stuck in traffic going to work, am stuck in traffic going home, am stuck in traffic on a Saturday afternoon.. stuck in traffic all the time. For that reason, I do not like to drive.. I would rather stay indoors then being stuck on the road. Most city people get used to being hours on the road getting from one destination to the other, I refuse to accept that as a norm of life. For 2 reasons- heat and traffic, I would move out of the city.
To counter the frequent flood situation in the city, we're building a SMART tunnel. SMART tunnel is a 3 compartment tunnel which can take traffic when it is dry and used for flood storage when need arises!
The top two are for traffic whilst the lowest is used solely for drainage. During conditions of certain storms, both the lower and the traffic compartments would be required for water passage. At these times, the tunnel would be sealed from traffic before it is flooded.
This tunnel has the ability to carry the heaviest predicted (100 years) rainfall out of the city center. Bravo!
